VIP Tactical Support Team Closing Ceremony

May 22, 2009

The closing ceremony for the VIP Tactical Support Team was held on Friday, May 22 at the Paul H. Farquharson Conference Center at Police Headquarters.  This four-week course was designed for personnel who have either attended a DS/T/ATA VIP Protection course or who are currently a member of a tactical team/unit that would provide tactical support for a preotective security detail.

Eighteen Bahamian law enforcement participants from the Royal Bahamas Police Force (RBPF) have completed this course.  The U.S. Chargé d’Affaires, a.i. Timothy Zúñiga-Brown and officials from the RBPF gave remarks at the event.

The four-week training course for Bahamian law enforcement officers was sponsored by the U.S. Embassy's Regional Security Office and the U.S. Department of State, Office of the Anti-Terrorism Assistance Program.
