U.S. Embassy Announces Julia Taft Fund for Refugees 2009

March 6, 2009

The U.S. Embassy in Nassau announces the opening of the solicitation for the Julia Taft Fund for Refugees Grant for 2009.  The grant is intended primarily for refugees or other populations of concern, such as vulnerable migrants and stateless persons. It is intended to meet gaps in ongoing programs that can be addressed locally for under $20,000 and are not already being addressed by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) or other organizations already receiving U.S. Government funding.  We would welcome applications from local NGOs which provide assistance programs to refugees, vulnerable migrants, and stateless persons.  Please click here for U.S. Embassy Julia Taft Fund for Refugees 2009 Application Instructions.  For further information, please click on Questions and Answers on U.S. Embassy Nassau Julia Taft Fund for Refugees Grant 2009.

Applications must be submitted to the Embassy no later than April 15, 2009, but proposals will be accepted beginning immediately.  All proposals must be submitted electronically, though they may also be submitted in hardcopy.  For further information or to submit an application, please contact GrantNassau@state.gov
