U.S. Embassy announces new interactive website with information on U.S. policies and outreach programs
January 30, 2008
The U.S. Embassy is pleased to announce that the U.S. Department of State has developed a new and exciting website available to foreign audiences. The interactive site, “America.gov,” provides a wealth of material on U.S. policies, culture, and values presented with the latest in multi-media technologies.
The content of the website varies for audiences ranging from students to opinion makers. It allows users to participate in live webchats with U.S. government officials, authors and other American experts. The site also focuses on university and secondary-school students by utilizing the popular “blog” format.
With the U.S. Presidential elections this year, “America.gov” has incorporated a section entitled “U.S. Elections,” which features detailed information on the candidates, podcasts and a daily elections blog.
U.S. Ambassador Ned L. Siegel noted that the website “America.gov” provides a unique outlet to engage a two-way conversation between Americans and people living in The Bahamas on issues affecting all of our lives.
This new interactive tool, “America.gov” is easily accessible at www.america.gov or through the U.S. Embassy’s official website http://nassau.usembassy.gov
