U.S. Embassy supports 6th annual Bahamas Home & Builders Show

October 23, 2006

The sixth annual Bahamas Home and Builders Show will be held October 28-29 at the Radisson Cable Beach Resort.  Recently two of the show’s organizers, Mr. John Bowleg and Mr. Nikita Curtis paid a courtesy call on United States Ambassador John D. Rood to discuss the upcoming show.  In support of the event, Ambassador Rood presented them with a check in the amount of $2,600, which more than doubles the U.S. Embassy’s financial support in previous years.  These funds will be used to market the show internationally and to assist with the development of an online building and remodeling directory.

The Bahamas Home & Builders Show will feature ten U.S. based companies and fifty-eight Bahamian companies.  The American companies include 84 Lumber Co., Bond Building Systems, Century Export Wholesale, CMS International Export, HomeKo, Steel Components USA, The Home Depot, Universal Provisions Group (UPG), Global Locals and Innovative Plumbing Concepts.

This year’s event will give local and international companies an opportunity to display the latest home and builder’s products that are available to consumers.  The goal of the organizers is to establish a platform for local and international companies interested in Bahamian home building.  The Bahamas Home and Builders Show is open to the general public on Saturday, October 28 from 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. and on Sunday, October 29 from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
