Ned Siegel Nominated to be New Ambassador to The Bahamas

On May 10, President George W. Bush nominated Ned L. Siegel of Florida to be United States Ambassador to The Bahamas.
Mr. Siegel, a resident of Boca Raton, Florida, is founder and Chairman of The Siegel Group, a real estate investment and management group. He has served the United States as Senior Advisor to the U.S. Mission to the United Nations for the UN General Assembly and as a Member of the Board of Directors of the Overseas Private Investment Corporation. Mr. Siegel has also served as Member of the Board for Enterprise Florida, a public/private partnership promoting Florida’s economic development.
Mr. Siegel has served as member, board member or trustee of over 25 civic organizations. He is on the National Board of Directors for the Republican Jewish Coalition, is Co-President of the Jewish National Fund and is a Trustee of the Institute for the Study of Global Anti-Semitism and Policy. He is a founding member of the Treva Brogan Educational Institute, which provides scholarships for disadvantaged youth, and has served on the Boards of St. Andrew’s and Pine Crest Schools in Boca Raton and been an advisor to New York University and the University of Pennsylvania.
He and his wife, Stephanie, have three children: Justin, Joshua and Jillian.
Mr. Siegel’s nomination has been sent to the United States Senate for advice and consent. Following Senate confirmation, Mr. Siegel will present his credentials to the Governor General. In the interim, Dr. D. Brent Hardt will continue to lead the United States Embassy as Chargé d’Affaires, a.i.
