With the goal of providing the best possible service to Bahamian visa applicants throughout the archipelago, the U.S. Embassy in Nassau is now offering Wednesday afternoon appointments for applicants living on Grand Bahama and the Family Islands.  Wednesday afternoon appointments are also available for applicants from the Turks and Caicos Islands.

With a “Family Island Wednesday” appointment, applicants will now be able to fly into Nassau in the morning, proceed to the Embassy for an early afternoon visa appointment, and fly home later the same day.  Visa applicants with afternoon appointments can expect to finish their interview by 3:00 p.m.  The processing time for approved visas remains 24 hours for all applicants.  Therefore, the Embassy advises applicants who plan to take advantage of “Family Island Wednesdays” appointment to either have their passports sent to their home via a courier service or arrange for a trusted friend or family member to retrieve their passport the following business day.

For information on the visa process, applicants should visit the U.S. Embassy’s website at http://nassau.usembassy.gov.

Applicants who would like to take advantage of the special Wednesday appointments must inform the Visa Call Center of their Family Island or Turks and Caicos status when scheduling their visa appointments.
