U.S. Ambassador-designate Ned L. Siegel and Mrs. Siegel arrive at Post

United States Ambassador-designate Ned L. Siegel and Mrs. Stephanie Siegel arrived in Nassau on Friday, November 2. They were greeted at Million Air Airport by a team of Embassy personnel led by Chargé d’Affaires Hardt and Mrs. Hardt. In a brief statement to the press, Ambassador-designate Siegel said that he and his wife are delighted to be in the Bahamas. He said that he looks forward to presenting his credentials to the Governor General and working with the Government of the Commonwealth of The Bahamas to represent the United States and further the many common interests shared between the two countries.
Following his arrival, Ambassador-designate and Mrs. Siegel drove to the Embassy, where he and Mrs. Siegel were formally introduced by Dr. Hardt and received a warm welcome by Embassy staff gathered in the Consular Waiting Room.
Ambassador-designate Siegel was confirmed as the 12th U.S. Ambassador to The Bahamas by the United States Senate on September 12. A resident of Boca Raton, Florida, he is founder and Chairman of The Siegel Group, a real estate investment and management group. He has served the United States as Senior Advisor to the U.S. Mission to the United Nations for the UN General Assembly and as a Member of the Board of Directors of the Overseas Private Investment Corporation. Ambassador-designate Siegel has also served as Member of the Board for Enterprise Florida, a public/private partnership promoting Florida’s economic development.
Ambassador-designate Siegel has served as member, board member or trustee of over 25 civic organizations. He is on the National Board of Directors for the Republican Jewish Coalition, is Co-President of the Jewish National Fund and is a Trustee of the Institute for the Study of Global Anti-Semitism and Policy. He is a founding member of the Treva Brogan Educational Institute, which provides scholarships for disadvantaged youth, and has served on the Boards of St. Andrew’s and Pine Crest Schools in Boca Raton and been an advisor to New York University and the University of Pennsylvania.
Ambassador-designate Siegel and Mrs. Siegel have three children: Justin, Joshua and Jillian.
