Can I Download a Nonimmigrant Visa Application?

Yes, download an application will shorten the time you have to wait at the Embassy.  We encourage you to use the application you can download.  You have a couple of options.

  1. Go to http://evisaforms.state.gov to access the visa application form DS-156, complete it , and print it out.  To print it correctly, carefully follow the instructions exactly as given on the website.  Bring all three pages with you to the Embassy.
  2. Go to http://evisaforms.state.gov, and SCROLL down to the bottom of the page to the note stating:  “If your system does not support the minimum requirements specified above or you choose not to use the electronic visa application forms, then please use the Non Electronic Visa Application Forms web page.”     You may then either print out the form and complete it manually, or type in the answers on your computer, and then print out the completed form.

Using these options eliminates the need to obtain a paper application from the Embassy, although that remains an option.  Stop at the guardhouse in front of the embassy for forms.   All application forms are free.

Men from 16 through 45 also need to complete a supplemental form “DS-157 Supplemental Nonimmigrant Visa Application.” This form can be accessed and printed at  http://www.state.gov/documents/organization/7769.pdf.

The U.S. Embassy-Nassau is constantly seeking to improve customer service to non-immigrant visa applicants.  We welcome your feedback.
