The Bahamas Country Commercial Guide - The 2011 Country Commercial Guide (PDF 583KB) provides an overview on the economy of The Bahamas and information on doing business here.  It presents background information on the political, economic and social climate of the country and provides statistical information on major sectors, and reports some current economic and business trends.  The guide also lists information on upcoming trade events and contact information for some Bahamian government agencies.

Bahamas Energy Forum and Home and Builders Show set for November 4-6, 2011

A press conference on Wednesday October 26, 2011, announced the Bahamas Energy Forum and Home and Builders Show will be held November 4^th-6^th, 2011 at the Wyndham Nassau Resort.  The event, which is focused on energy efficiency, is an opportunity for businesses, individuals and government to learn and meet with experts in the energy efficiency and sustainable energy field.  Headlining the forum will be Bloom Energy and Ocean Thermal Energy Co., two U.S. companies that are building cutting edge technologies that will change the way the world generates and uses energy.   Speaking at the press conference, Political/Economic Chief Alex Sokoloff said, “renewable energy and green technologies are a passion of Ambassador Avant and she is delighted to be able to participate in and support these initiatives”.  The United States Embassy is pleased to partner with the Bahamas Chamber of Commerce and Employers Confederation, Bahamas Hotel Association, and the Bahamas Home and Builders Show.  For further information and to register for the Bahamas Energy Forum, please contact the Bahamas Chamber of Commerce at telephone, 322-2415.
