U.S. Ambassador-designate Nicole Avant arrives in The Bahamas

On Wednesday, October 16th, U.S.  Ambassador-Designate Nicole A. Avant arrived in The Bahamas to take up her post as the thirteenth U.S. Ambassador to The Bahamas.  Ambassador Avant was accompanied by her husband, Ted Sarandos. 

On arrival, Ambassador Avant was met by the Chief Protocol Officer at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Melvin Seymour, and U.S. Chargè d’Affaires, a.i. Timothy Zuniga-Brown.  She was also formally introduced to other officials at the U.S. Embassy on arrival. 

Ambassador Avant will present her Letters of Credence to the Governor General of The Bahamas, His Excellency Arthur D. Hanna, on Thursday, October 22.
